Our mini vacation

So as you all know we had a little mini vacation this past weekend. We went to The Newport Aquarium which is located in Newport,KY. We got up Saturday morning and headed up to check into our motel room. On our way up we stopped off at Burger King to get some lunch which turned into be a event lol. We order our food and I sit down with Dakota at the table while Rob waits for our food. I take a drink of our drink(which luckily was sweet tea and not coke) and go to sit it down and some how I tipped it over! It went all over my jeans and all over Dakota!!! So I run to the bathroom while my mom and dad get Dakotas wet clothes off of him. I tried to get my jeans dry by using the hand dryer in the bathroom but they were so wet and they were thick jeans to that there was no way that was ever going to work. So I go out the car and get the only other pair of jeans I had with me and put them on. Of course I packed plenty of clothes for Dakota so that was no big deal but myself on the other hand. I only took 2 pair of jeans. The ones I had on and the ones I took for Sunday. So needless to say I had to wear the same pair of jeans 2 days in a row lol. Oh well I have had worse happen! Other than that our weekend went GREAT!! Dakota loved all the fishies and he says. He went to sleep totally fine. Which is one of the things I was totally worried about. We have gotten him broken from rocking him to sleep. We can lay him in his bed and he goes to sleep on his own but we have not stayed anywhere since we have done that so I was worried that he would not lay down by himself in a strange place but he did. He cried for a few mins but he does that at home sometimes when he does not want to go to bed. He slept all night long and was ready to go the next morning which was awesome! We got up Sunday morning and got ready to head out. I got up with a tooth bothering me but once Rob went to McDonalds and got me a McSkillet Burrito(they do not have them around here and I LOVE THEM!!) I was much better lol.

So we head out the Aquarium. We got there early enough that we didn't have to wait in line...which was awesome!! The last time me and Rob had been to the Aquarium was on our honey moon trip and that has been over 6 yrs ago so things had changed just a little bit. Dakota loved the sharks. He had a great time which in return made us have a great time!! We are hoping that in the fall we can make it the Indy Zoo or the Nashville Zoo. This was our first trip somewhere over night that Dakota was not sick!! Every other time we had went somewhere over night he had gotten sick on us. So glad we had such a great trip!! I can NOT wait til the next one!!!

starting my blog

i have been thinking about starting a blog for awhile now. somewhere that i could write down and share all of dakotas milestones. i had not had the time to getting around to creating a blog until. right now things are going great with us and dakota. he is still working on catching up with his speech. he is getting better and better every day and rob and i could not be any more proud of how hard he works. he is for sure our pirde and joy. we are really enjoying the summer. dakota is in love with his mammie and pappas big pool this year. he loves to go swimming and i believe he would spend all day in there if we let him lol. rob finally got back to work and is loving his job. i love it as well. he has finally found him a good job that allows him days and weekends at home. getting out of trucking industry was the best thing he has ever done. right now i dont think life could get any better.
